SERVO [Assistant Robot for Hospitals]

The pandemic of Covid-19 has spread all over the world. Many people in the world have already lost their loved ones and a huge number of human lives are still at risk. Especially our healthcare workers who are directly engaging with Covid-19 infected patients. They are our frontline fighters in this pandemic period. We cannot afford to lose them. So, minimizing their contact with the infected people, and ensuring their safety should be our concern of utmost priority. Ensuring the safety of healthcare workers will potentially save a lot of other lives in the future. The main challenge at this time is the physical distance between the patients and healthcare workers. Using a robot can be a better method to tend to the needs of people. Robots can act as an interface between a doctor and patient wherein they can carry out diagnostic and treatment processes, reducing the human contact and risk of transmission of infection. Using robots can be a better method to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes and have been accepted in advanced hospitals all over the world. Due to this reason, the concept of robot SERVO [Assistant Robots for Hospitals] is addressed and is successfully prototyped after a few months of research. SERVO [Assistant Robot for Hospitals] is a manually controlled robot to be used at the different wards of hospitals especially including the isolation wards to deliver the medicines and food, measure the temperature, communicate with the patients in real-time, and sanitize the peripherals. Actually, SERVO was made three different times with different materials and later finalized an appropriate model (SERVO V3) that can even be used practically in the hospitals. With very great support from the Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN) in the provision of various resources SERVO is made and successfully tested in Gupteshwor Pharmacy and Health Clinic Mahalaxmi-7, Lalitpur.

कोविड -१९ को महामारी संसारभर फैलिएको छ। विश्व मा धेरै व्यक्तिहरु पहिले नै आफ्नो प्रियहरु हराइसकेका छन् र मानव जीवन को एक ठूलो संख्या अझै जोखिम मा छ। विशेष गरी, हाम्रा स्वास्थ्यसेवाहरू जो कोभिड संक्रमित बिरामीहरूसँग प्रत्यक्ष संलग्न छन्। तिनीहरू यस महामारी अवधिमा हाम्रो फ्रन्टलाइन लड़ाकू हो। हामी उनीहरूलाई हराउन सक्दैनौं। त्यसो भए, संक्रमित व्यक्तिहरूसँग उनीहरूको सम्पर्क न्यूनीकरण गर्दै, र उनीहरूको सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित गर्न हाम्रो उच्च प्राथमिकताको चिन्ताको विषय हुनुपर्दछ। स्वास्थ्यकर्मीहरूको सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित गर्नाले भविष्यमा अन्य धेरै जीवनहरू बचाउनेछ। यस समयमा मुख्य चुनौती बिरामीहरू र स्वास्थ्यकर्मीहरू बीच शारीरिक दूरी हो। रोबोटको प्रयोग गर्नु मानिसका आवश्यकतालाई ध्यान दिन उत्तम विधि हुन सक्छ। रोबोटहरूले एक डाक्टर र बिरामीको बीचमा इन्टरफेसको रूपमा काम गर्न सक्दछ जहाँ उनीहरूले निदान र उपचार प्रक्रियाहरू सञ्चालन गर्न सक्छन्, मानव सम्पर्कलाई कम गर्दछ र संक्रमणको जोखिम। देखभाल र बिरामी नतिजाको गुणस्तर सुधार गर्न रोबोटहरूको प्रयोग गर्नु राम्रो विधि हुन सक्छ र विश्वभरि उन्नत अस्पतालहरूमा स्वीकार गरिएको छ। यस कारणले गर्दा, रोबोट SERVO [अस्पतालका लागि सहायक रोबोट] को अवधारणालाई सम्बोधन गरिएको छ र केही महिना अनुसन्धान पछि सफलतापूर्वक प्रोटोटाइप गरिएको छ। SERVO [अस्पतालका लागि सहायक रोबोट] एक म्यानुअल्ली नियन्त्रित रोबोट हो जुन अस्पतालको बिभिन्न वार्डमा प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ विशेष गरी पृथक वार्ड सहित औषधि र खाना वितरण गर्न, तापक्रम मापन गर्न, बिरामीहरूसँग रिअल-टाइममा कुराकानी गर्न, र सहायक उपकरणहरू सफा गर्न। । वास्तवमा, SERVO तीन फरक सामग्रीहरू संग बनाइएको थियो र पछि एक उपयुक्त मोडेल (SERVO V3) लाई अन्तिम रूप दियो जुन अस्पतालमा व्यावहारिक रूपमा प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ। रोबोटिक्स एसोसिएशन अफ नेपाल (RAN) को बृहत् सहयोगको साथ विभिन्न स्रोतहरुको प्रावधानमा SERVO गुप्तेश्वर फार्मेसी र स्वास्थ्य क्लिनिक महालक्ष्मी-७, ललितपुर नेपालमा सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण गरीएको छ।
