DIGITAL NEPAL: MY IDEATION’S NEPAL

|Ronen Acharya|

The age of the twenty-first century is considered as an age where science and technology have shown miraculous innovations and the entire universe has been included in the network of information technology. In the present age where the world universe is traveling at a very fast pace, we Nepalese today are lagged behind the ages by not being able to use abundant resources, still suffering from medieval backwardness, suffering from terrible conditions like hunger, disease, and poverty. Nepal, a country liberated to the feudal rule of about two hundred and seventy years old monarchy, moves from the old situation to the new one through the federal democratic republican constitution. The country is moving towards the path of the new Nepal with digitalization as the concern of utmost priority. In such a situation, it is natural that the imagination of modern and digital Nepal should be reflected in the heart of each and every conscious citizen. In my heart, various assumptions are been made while present Nepal is moving from the old to the new. Waves of joy, happiness, and excitement are rippling through the heart that this country will soon become second Switzerland in the world, while the country is moving in the direction of the home of the one hundred and twenty-five ethnic group people. In any case, to liberate Nepal from the scourge of economic, political, social, cultural spheres, and technology, the aim is to build a new Nepal by uplifting all the seven provinces of Nepal through this broad concept of digitalization.

Immortal advancement in the field of information technology, education, and health would transform Nepal as pre-determined. All the villages and towns would be united through the internet media. Leu of Humla, Chauripat of Dolpa, Theki of Makwanpur, Apple of Jumla would be connected in the network of e-business. Colleges and international research centers would be opened for higher education in the fields of tourism, botany, environmental diversity of Nepal by adopting the e-education policy as per the need of the 21st century to eradicate illiteracy. A long-term policy would be formulated to preserve, develop, and progress ancient art and culture while preserving it digitally as the long-term preservation in their original state is not practical. Compulsory secondary education and free higher education would be made accessible and would suit the interests of the students. The Nepalese people would not have to suffer from the current education system. Moreover, health facilities would also be extended to the corners of villages and remote areas. Radical changes in the field of education and health would give the Nepalese people the opportunity to become prosperous citizens of digital Nepal.

Digital Nepal would not have to be confused in the fog of illiteracy and ignorance. The light of consciousness would shine in the courtyards of most illiterate Nepalese where the light of knowledge would shine. The educated class would escape from the corruption of becoming a lifelong parasite by begging for employment by acquiring education of international standard through the internet media. Those who are literate by acquiring life-sustaining technical and vocational education would be able to stand on their own two feet. Opportunities for education and facilities would not be limited to cities; schools and colleges would be established in villages as well as in remote areas of the nation. The Nepalese people would be ready to spread the light of peace and spiritual education all over the world and to become self-reliant and revive their pride in the world through digital media. In this way, when the sun of education and consciousness rises in the country, the Himalayas will welcome that sun with a smile.

Along with modern scientific development, there will be a renaissance of ancient glorious civilization and culture in digital Nepal. In present Nepal, things like poverty, inequality, corruption, and unrest are hinder the entire development in the absence of digitalization. On the other hand, untouchability, exploitation, oppression, injustice, and atrocities would be displaced from here through digitalization. Furthermore, our country would be a civilized, well-educated, and prosperous country. This country would become a country of justice, equality, brotherhood, beauty, peace, and vastness. Recognizing itself as modern and digital, the new Nepal will open the doors of economic revolution. By making miraculous advances in information technology, Nepal would become the apple of the eye of the world. Hence, the Nepal of my ideation is modern and digital Nepal. On that note, the concept of digital Nepal should be taken into concern by the policymakers for the overall development of the nation through the optimum utilization of available means and resources.
